Butterball bath bomb from Lush

Monday, October 28, 2019
It's been almost 3 years since my last Lush product review. They were an old favourite back when my blog was a wee bairn.

I actually haven't used Lush products for a long time - I found myself spending a small fortune on bath bombs each month and I knew I had to slow down, but instead I just stopped completely. They weren't items I needed, and I began to enjoy simple baths more - a handful of epsom salts and some gentle zero fragrance bubble bath was (and still is) my go-to.

Over the years I've become more and more wary of what products I use in the bath and shower.  Some products can be irritating to intimate areas and I'd like to avoid that, and even though Lush products are completely safe to use around those areas (even their glitter is safe) I didn't want to dive straight back into something overly scented or overly shimmery. I went with an employee's advice and eased myself back into the Bath Bomb Club with a classic Butterball.

Butterball is one of my favourite bath bombs because it's fuss-free. It's colourless, shimmer-less, and has a wonderful relaxing scent that could send me straight to sleep. As it fizzes, it releases blobs of nourishing cocoa butter onto the surface of the water until it eventually melts onto your skin. Bliss.

If you have dry, sensitive or irritated skin, this is the bath bomb to replenish it. Once the cocoa butter pieces have melted, your skin will be coated by a light buttery film that smells good enough to eat. Ylang ylang is used in aromatherapy to treat stress and depression, as well as relaxing the nervous system, and relieves anger, panic and fear. X

Butterball will always be a firm favourite of mine. The smell is divine, the ingredients don't irritate me, and the feel of my skin afterwards makes me feel like a silky goddess.
