Commiserations & a bachelor's degree

Afternoon chaps. Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday.

It's my favourite time of year! Autumn is the most beautiful season in my opinion. I may be biased as my favourite colours in the world - especially with clothing - are rust tones, so I find myself matching my surroundings a lot. It's still a little too early for crispy brown leaves and cool breezes (it's technically still summer until the 23rd) but I am full of anticipation. I have my scarf out ready, my coats have been dusted off, and I've recently bought some new thick leggings and tights to keep me toasty. I've already broken out the fluffy socks and dressing gown which gives me a lot of joy.

To begin, I want to say thank-you to anyone reading this who voted for me in the Amara Interior Blog Awards this year. I was nominated for Best Interior Lifestyle Blog but sadly I wasn't shortlisted. I'm over the moon to have been nominated and to have been among some very good company, but not everyone can make it, so I'm going to give it another go next year.

In better news, I have decided to continue my education with the National Design Academy - I'm going to be doing a bachelor's degree in Interior Design! A 3 year long course that I'll be doing online just like my diploma, hopefully starting in mid-October. I'm currently (very impatiently) waiting for Student Finance England to get back to me on whether my application is successful, then I have to get in touch with the NDA and let them know it's been approved. I've already sent and received back my identity form and evidence so I'm not sure what's taking so long... but eh, I suppose they must have a lot to go through. My phone is practically glued to my hand because I'm constantly checking my emails for updates.

My family and I are going to Newcastle in November. We were going to go for my birthday next March but I'm impatient so we (I, lol) decided we should go in November for my brother's birthday instead. I really wanted a city break this year and Newcastle fits the bill. My brother's been loads of times and it looks like a great city, one that I've never been to, so I'm really looking forward to it. I keep going on Google Street View and wandering around the city centre so when we're there I might have an inkling on where to go. Some decent shopping and lots of gorgeous architecture.

If anyone has any Newcastle recommendations on places we should definitely visit or eat at please let me know! I'm clueless.

I've been... reading: Sustainable Home by Christine Liu and Liz Earle Wellbeing magazine. | Listening to: london, a playlist by Tabby Williams on Apple Music. | Eating: delicious butter chicken. | Watching: Taskmaster, best comedy game show on telly. | Buying: a new tube of Weleda Skin Food, second-hand shirts off eBay, and another OHTO ballpoint in hot pink.
