Spendin' & puzzlin'

Hi! What a blog title...

Hope you guys have had a good week.

I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been throwing cash around like a freak this month. I can't stop shopping. I've bought five new dresses, a bucket load of skincare and make-up, some little bits and bobs (DVDs, books etc.), and I made a Fat Face order last week and that's all since pay-day at the end of April. I need to chill big time. I like a bit of retail therapy but it just makes me feel kinda blah at the end of it, so I'm probably best just saving it up and doing other (read: free) things for the rest of May.

My last big purchase of the month was for my mum's birthday - I booked us two tickets to visit the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley (outskirts of Birmingham) in June. She's always wanted to go and since I was feeling a bit YOLO last night I bought the tickets. It's OK though because it's technically a birthday present so I don't feel as bad.

So besides from going shopping a lot and feeling guilty about it (stupid really!!!), I've been spending the rest of my time off at home chillin'. I started reading Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh - I haven't been big into reading since I was at uni and I already have two books on the go (one is 873 pages long 🤢), so starting a new one was a bit of a risk but it's quite a short read so might not be as daunting. You can keep up with my reading progress here. I have to warn you, I'm a slooooooow reader.

My mum and I finished another jigsaw yesterday - we abandoned the 1,000 piece one we were working on prior to this (it was crazy difficult and was infuriating both of us) so moved onto this easier little 500 piece. We finished it in about three days. I liked this jigsaw because it has an unusual blurry painted effect which made it trickier than other jigsaws we've done. I sound like a proper old jigsaw nerd don't I? Puzzles are so fuuuuun.

I have four days off at the end of this coming week so I'm currently thinking of things I could do with my free time. Contemplating catching a train to Sheffield one day to wander about and take some photos. Been a while since I've took my film camera out, I think the last photos I took on it are over a year old(!) so maybe a photography trip would be nice. I'd like to visit Moonko and Vulgar too, because although I am on a kind-of spending ban I'd still like to have a browse.

Hope you have a good start to the week.
